Australia has always been known as the lucky country, these days we can’t even rely on our super! I was sent this video this morning by a current client and it really made me think twice… It’s a detailed video by 60 minutes on why Australians need to stop relying on their super to help them retire…
I was shocked and horrified that hardworking Australians wouldn’t be able to afford to rely on their hard earned super in their retirement…
Just stunned really…

1/8 Australians are working past the age of 65! Some price to pay for working your butt off your whole life!
The average pensioner only receives $20,600 for an individual or $32,000 as a couple per year? Which is below the poverty line!
The government is currently looking at passing a law to restrict how much you can have in your superannuation account at any one time…
In a nutshell, they are forcing us to have to think very keenly about the way we save for our retirement and most of us won’t retire with more than $200,000 in our superannuation… (Which is in reality only 8 years’ worth of funds to live on if you’re living VERY conservatively).
So what can you do?
Can you imagine having to start a cleaning business at age 65+ just to make ends meet? That’s back-breaking work at the best of times.
There really is only one realistic answer…
Most Australians need a plan B!
And that plan B needs to be building passive income through investments or through business.
